This week there is a national campaign to encourage Swedish people to pick up garbage in the environment. There is an initiative in Australia that is similar called Clean up Australia Day.
I have been out in the streets picking up and filling two bags with garbage today and willing out again tomorrow. One of the big differences between Australia and Sweden is the inclusion of adults in these drives. It is normally only mature adults in Sweden and school aged children who are involved, whereas in Australia it is across the board.
